TDAzlan is named Cisco UK and Ireland Distributor of the Year

Award recognises value distributor’s contribution to driving business development for Cisco’s data centre solutions and engagement with managed services providers and cloud partners

Basingstoke, 06 May 2015 – TDAzlan, Tech Data’s specialist enterprise infrastructure, data centre, software, services and cloud business unit, has been named Cisco UK and Ireland’s Distributor of the Year for 2014.

The award recognises the contribution made by Azlan over the past year in developing business with Cisco partners. For the 12 months to July 2014, Azlan UK was Cisco’s fastest-growing distributor in commercial solutions and achieved healthy double-digit year-on-year growth with Cisco overall. Azlan invested in its Cisco team, expanding its team of data centre specialists and also its technical, services and internal sales resources.

A key factor in Tech Data Azlan’s success over the past year has been its Momentumprogramme. This offers resellers a ‘Fast-Track to Cisco Success’ by providing focused business development, technical support and training on key Cisco Architectures, such as UCS Data Centre solutions, to accelerate partner enablement and increase sales.

As part of this initiative, Azlan ran 14 Cisco Select Bootcamps during the year, re-certifying 162 partners. It also ran a number of cross-platform solutions events, demonstrating Cisco complementary vendor technologies from leading vendors such as VCE, VMware, EMC, Citrix and Flip IT.

Azlan placed a strong focus throughout the year on assisting mid-market Cisco partners to develop business around data centre solutions and achieved a significant growth in breadth in this area. It actively helped a number of Cisco resellers to secure strategic converged architecture wins with major end-user customer. It assisted one VAR with an international deployment of Cisco collaboration solutions across the UK, Germany and France. In the UK specifically, Azlan offers unrivalled reach and flexibility, providing partners with access to Cisco experts and the very latest Cisco solutions for demonstration purposes in four UK locations.

With the assistance of its dedicated MSP team, Azlan has also secured some significant investment in Cisco products from managed services providers. It has also worked to promote Cisco solutions to cloud solutions resellers. Azlan recently joined the Cisco Cloud Aggregator Programme and is leading the way in recruiting new Cisco Cloud Services Resellers (CSR) in the UK.

Azlan joins Cisco Cloud Aggregator Programme to help partners grow

Value distributor will lead the way in recruiting and enabling new Cisco Cloud Services Resellers to take extensive line-up of accredited solutions to market

Basingstoke, 29 April 2015 – Azlan, Tech Data’s specialist enterprise infrastructure, data centre, software, services and cloud business unit, has joined the Cisco Cloud Aggregator Programme and will lead the way in recruiting new Cisco Cloud Services Resellers (CSR) in the UK.  As part of the agreement, Azlan will provide Cisco resellers with access to cloud solutions from leading Cisco-accredited Services Provider partners and specialist support from its own Cloud Services and Cisco teams.

By becoming a Cisco Cloud Services Reseller, partners can offer a range of cloud services that are built on Cisco technology, without having to making any investment in their own dedicated infrastructure. By working with Azlan, they have access to an established Cloud Services practice and extensive expertise in Cisco solutions. In addition, they can make use of Tech Data’s StreamOne aggregation portal to manage customer usage and automate billing processes.

Azlan helps HP VARs get to grips with SDN

The distributor has set up a special software-defined networking demonstration facility alongside the full range of technologies within its HP Enterprise Group Demo Lab

Basingstoke, 11 March 2015 – Azlan, the Enterprise division of Tech Data, is helping resellers get to grips with the concept of software-defined networking (SDN) by offering them access to a fully-equipped proof-of-concept and demonstration centre at its HP Enterprise Group (HP EG) Demo Lab facility in Basingstoke.

SDN is expected to be one of the next big trends in the enterprise market.  According to International Data Corporation (IDC), the worldwide SDN market for the enterprise and cloud service provider segments will grow from $960 million in 2014 to over $8 billion by 2018, a CAGR of 89.4per cent1.

Azlan’s HP EG team has built the lab-based facility to provide a simple way for reseller to set-up test environments and demonstrations for customers and to educate their own sales and technical teams. It is available for resellers to utilise free of charge, by arrangement with Azlan’s HP team.

Jonathan Kaiser, General Manager Products and Services for the Azlan HP Enterprise Group, says: “Software-defined networking promises to completely re-define the way that infrastructures are designed and managed. But while it is deliverable today, most VARs and end-user customers are only just starting to learn about the concept and everything that it entails. Azlan and HP invite resellers to tea at the Savoy

‘Building a better HP Business for 2015’ event will showcase Azlan’s services and support alongside the HP solutions that will drive business growth over the coming year

Basingstoke, 05 February 2015 – Azlan, the enterprise division of Tech Data, is running a joint event with HP later this month that will showcase the vendor’s latest solutions and services and how they will drive profitable business growth over the course of 2015.

At the Building a better HP business for 2015 event, senior personnel from both Azlan and HP will give their perspective on the opportunities that current IT market trends and technological developments offer partners. They will also present an overview of HP's converged solutions portfolio and signpost the key areas of growth potential.

Clive Freeman, HP UK and Ireland Chief Technology Officer is delivering a keynote presentation on the New Style of IT  in which he will explain the company’s fresh approach towards IT propositions and how this will help partners to increase engagement with prospective customers and drive demand.

Andy Dow, Head of the HP Enterprise Group at Azlan will host the event and explain in his presentation how HP partners can make use of Azlan’s HP expertise, professional services capabilities and sales enablement resources to support their business development.

Dow says: “This is an event that no reseller with a strong focus on HP will want to miss. It will give them insight into HP’s plan for the coming year and thus enable them to shape their own strategy and approach accordingly. Azlan and Lakeside Software partnership opens up more potential for VAR in desktop transformation

Basingstoke, 02 February 2015 – Azlan, the Enterprise division of Tech Data, has signed a distribution agreement with Lakeside Software, a leading provider of big data analytics for end user computing.

The partnership will see Azlan recruiting, enabling and providing support to value-added resellers for Lakeside’s full SysTrack® portfolio of big data analytics tools. VARs will be able to offer SysTrack licenses as part of their own value proposition, or take advantage of pre-packaged Desktop Assessment and Healthcheck services provided by Azlan and driven by Lakeside’s analytics software.

SysTrack is a set of detailed analysis tools that can be used to visualise end user compute infrastructure in order to drive out costs, monitor and manage user experience, and troubleshoot issues. It is also ideal for use in pre-installation assessments of desktop transformation and migration projects. It supports all major industry platforms, including Microsoft, Citrix and VMware.

With interest in virtual desktop infrastructure continuing to grow, there is a major opportunity with Lakeside for enterprise VARs, says Sarah Deller, Business Unit Director for Software at Azlan.
