TDAzlan launches Cloud Services portfolio and StreamOne cloud billing platform

TDAzlan, the enterprise networking division of Computer 2000, part of the Tech Data Group, has announced the launch of its Cloud Services portfolio and StreamOne partner aggregation and billing platform.

With immediate effect, cloud resellers can offer all the following services through the TD Cloud programme:

  • Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) from Rackspace
  • Hosted Microsoft Office 365 from LuxCloud
  • Mozy by EMC cloud-based backup service
  • Hosted video services via Videxio
  • White-label IaaS from AirVM*1

Additional services will be added to the portfolio over the coming months.

Resellers will be able to manage all monthly charges and subscriptions through StreamOne – Tech Data’s fully-integrated billing platform for cloud services. By enabling them to keep track of customer subscriptions and consumption and to collate all the information into one simple bill at the end of each month, StreamOne allows resellers to offer a complete cloud services proposition to their customers with minimal investment.

Joel Chimoindes, European Cloud Services Director for Azlan, said: “The cloud is a very exciting opportunity for everyone in the channel. With the portfolio of services we are now making available and StreamOne providing the missing operational link, resellers can now enter the cloud services market with a complete proposition, knowing that they will be able to manage subscriptions, usage monitoring and billing professionally.”

The range of services being offered will have particular appeal to medium-sized and smaller business, he added. “We have looked at the market in real depth and these are areas in which customers are looking to adopt cloud services right away – for backup, IaaS, video and mobile office productivity. In particular, we see this array of services appealing to SMBs that are growing fast and want to benefit from having the maximum flexibility, versatility and resilience that cloud services deliver.”

The availability of the StreamOne platform was a pre-requisite to the launch of the TD Cloud Services, said Chimoindes. “Without StreamOne, resellers would have to develop their own way of monitoring the usage of every single service by every single customer. StreamOne enables them to manage and automate the whole process. It makes it much easier to enter the market, to build quotations, monitor usage and subscriptions and, crucially, provide a single bill, based on that customer’s consumption of cloud services at the end of the month.”

Azlan is also making a number of professional services available alongside the Cloud Services.  These will include Network Assessment and Migration Services as well as Cloud Provider IaaS, all of which will be made available as ‘white-label’ offerings for partners.

Daniel Cartter, EMEA Director of Cloud Solution and Services, Azlan-SDG said: “Azlan-SDG recognised the need to address the growing requirement to supply reseller partners with a resource pool of services and solutions that will enable them to broaden their offering to customers and fill any gaps in their skills, capacity or geographical capacities. Our Channel Practice will provide resellers with access to experienced consultants and resources and enable them to meet customer needs without making addition investments, and assist them in building their own capabilities in the cloud services arena.”

Around 150 resellers have already engaged on Azlan’s TD Cloud Discovery Programme, which provides all the information, education and enablement resources they need to develop their knowledge and devise a cloud strategy and proposed value proposition for their business. The launch of the TD Cloud Services and the StreamOne platform will enable resellers to move to the next stage and start offering services and generating revenues from the cloud.

Over the next few weeks, Azlan will be making a series of presentations at a number of events and hosting special webinar sessions on each of the Cloud Services it is making available. More information on the specific services can be found at the following links:

Chimoindes stated: “We have formed partnerships with a group so services providers that will meet current customer priorities in the cloud and give resellers and their customers flexibility and choice. In Rackspace and Mozy, we have tried and trusted brands and in LuxCloud, Videxio and AirVM a blend of practicality and innovation that will enable partners to offer customers the services they want to buy today and to explore the potential to broaden their horizons and adopt new and more flexible ways of working.”

TDAzlan appointed as UK distributor for EMC

Distributor to target mid-market and SMB partners – former 2e2 EMC Vendor Alliance Manager recruited to head dedicated EMC Business Unit

TDAzlan, the enterprise networking business unit of Computer 2000, has been appointed as an EMC® Velocity™ Distributor for EMC storage solutions in the UK. With effect from 14th May 2013, the full range of EMC products, including Avamar®, Data Domain®, and  NetWorker® next-generation backup products,  VNX™ and VNXe™ unified storage systems, Symmetrix® VMAX® and VSPEX™ Proven Infrastructure solutions, will be available from Azlan to UK resellers.

Azlan will be placing a specific focus on developing mid-market and SMB business with server and storage and infrastructure resellers.  It plans to make the EMC VSPEX Proven Infrastructure solutions a key component of its Proof-of-Concept (PoC) lab and demo suite, which will also feature Cisco Data Centre and Unified Communications solutions, and technologies from VMware and Brocade.

Azlan is making a significant investment in driving EMC business with the appointment of Carl Douglas, former EMC Vendor Alliance Manager at 2e2. He will head a dedicated team that will provide focused support to EMC partners.  At 2e2, Douglas was responsible for driving a major, long-term EMC business development programme and brings more than 20 years of experience in IT sales, vendor partnership and account management, including just under four years of working for EMC itself, to the team.

Azlan is planning to drive recruitment and on-boarding of additional SMB resellers for EMC’s Partner Velocity Solution Provider Programme, helping partners to achieve their initial EMC accredited status. Azlan also plans to create a Tech Select*1 incubation programme to provide focused support for resellers that want to take advantage of the additional business development opportunities and rewards available to partners that achieve higher levels of EMC accreditation.

Nigel Dunn, UK Director of Azlan, said: “With the existing skills we have in storage and backup and recovery technologies, along with our strong relationships with vendors of complementary technologies, Azlan is ideally-placed to help resellers working in the mid-market and SMB sectors grow their EMC sales.  Our proven ability to recruit and enable new partners is a distinct value-add that Azlan can deliver to EMC and SMB resellers looking to develop their potential in the storage and infrastructure markets.”

As well as EMC-focused education and sales and marketing support, Azlan will be offering multi-vendor solutions featuring EMC technologies, Dunn added.  “Opportunities are expanding in every direction around the data centre and with solutions like EMC VSPEX, resellers can deliver best-in-class storage virtualisation for their customers. We’ll be providing all the support they need to take advantage of the massive potential that EMC solutions present in this growing segment of the market.”

Terry Beale, UK Channel Director for EMC, stated: “Customers face huge challenges in dealing with the increasing demands on storage capacity and performance. This is a significant opportunity for resellers and one that Azlan, with its strong technical skills and unrivalled reputation in the UK infrastructure market, is perfectly positioned to address. EMC will be supporting Azlan‘s efforts to identify new partners and help them to develop their knowledge and go-to-market capabilities.”

Notes to editors:

*1 – Computer 2000’s Tech Select programmes provide focused engagement, education and support resources to partners that are committed to working with a specific vendor. Lead-generation activity, assistance with customer quotations, configuration and professional services will also be offered to EMC partners. In addition, Azlan plans to encourage more SMB partners to take EMC solutions to market with a range of special offers and exclusive multi-vendor storage and software bundles.

Azlan makes Videxio's cloud-based Video-as-a-Service solution available to resellers across Europe

Basingstoke, UK – 14 March 2013 – TDAzlan, Europe’s leading distributor of enterprise networking, server, storage and software solutions, has signed an agreement with cloud video service provider Videxio to distribute its cloud-based video service throughout Europe.

This will make it easier for its Cisco partners to offer easy and cost-effective solutions for customers looking to deploy enterprise video collaboration solutions from Cisco. Powered by Videxio, this offering provides resellers the ability to offer the most scalable and powerful video as a service solution to their customers, resulting in an increased competitive edge and profitability.

Joel Chimoindes, European Director of Cloud Services at Azlan, commented: “By making Videxio’s services available, Azlan is giving resellers the ability to offer state-of-the-art cloud-based video services to their end-user customers as an integral part of Cisco-based video-conferencing or Cisco Telepresence solutions.  It’s an ideal way to make use of the cloud, as anytime-anywhere access is vital to presence-based solutions. It will also make them more practical and affordable for smaller and mid-sized businesses that do not perhaps, want to deploy and manage their own dedicated video server. Videxio makes the whole solution simpler.”

CEO and co-founder of Videxio, Tom-Erik Lia, said: “I have been impressed with how Azlan constantly drives development of the best business proposition for their partners and how they want to ensure the best possible video experience for their customers. This is why I think Azlan is a great fit for Videxio and I am confident that we together will drive more business for our partners and ensure the best possible experience for our common customers.”

Chimoindes said that Videxio’s technical pedigree was second to none. “We have been really impressed with the quality, efficiency and simplicity of Videxio’s service and with the technical ability and practical understanding they have of the integration and usability requirements of end customers. We expect the service to be extremely popular with Cisco Partners.”

Subscriptions to and usage of the Videxio service will be transacted through Tech Data’s StreamOne aggregation, billing and management marketplace.

Azlan Tech Data drives revenue growth and success for Cisco partners with 200 percent year-over-year increase in service renewals in 2012

Leading European value-added distributor relies upon MaintenanceNet-powered Felix platform to automate and expedite service quoting, ordering and renewal processes for resellers

Basingstoke, UK – 06 February 2013 – Azlan, Europe’s leading distributor of enterprise networking, server, storage and software solutions, today announced its Cisco partners exceeded all expectations for service sales growth in 2012 as a result of its MaintenanceNet-powered Felix technology platform, which drives service revenue by enabling resellers to quickly perform service contract renewals and transactions online.

Azlan helped its partners across Europe achieve an increase of more than 200 percent in service renewals ordered as a result of service quotes generated through Felix in 2012. In addition, the distributor realised a 32 percent increase in the number of overall service quotes created on behalf of its partners, while also increasing the number of attach quotes (quotes designed for products not covered by service agreements) by 10 percent.

“All told, through Felix, we generated millions of euros in revenue gains for our reseller partners in 2012, and helped them drive stronger ties with their customers through better management of service contracts,” said Kevin Markwick, Director of the IBM and Services business unit at Azlan.  “When our partners succeed, we succeed, which is why we couldn’t be more thrilled with this outcome.”

Designed as a self-help, data-driven service contract management platform, Felix provides visibility into service renewals and new service sales opportunities, while also expediting service quoting, ordering and renewal processes. Felix also automates the creation and delivery of low-dollar renewal quotes though its Auto Quote capability, eliminating administrative time for Azlan partners.

“Our channel partners can use Felix to produce a final service quote – ready to be passed onto the customer – within minutes. The platform not only saves time, but also increases their chances of winning more business, and has been proven to generate twice the amount of gross profit that would otherwise be available to resellers for these service contract offerings,” said Markwick. “Azlan’s number-one priority with services is making them easier for our partners to sell - Felix makes that possible.”

“Azlan and the Felix platform continue to make it easy and cost effective for us to sell more Cisco service contracts, enabling us to better serve our customers, drive stronger revenue and differentiate ourselves in the market,” said Gary Dobson, Sales Director EMEA, Dynamic Technologies Europe Ltd.

Azlan is first to ship ground-breaking HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000 to UK channel

Azlan, the enterprise networking division of Computer 2000, part of the Tech Data Group, has completed what is thought to be the first sale of HP’s newly-launched 3PAR StoreServ 7000 advanced storage system.

The StoreServ 7200 Array has been purchased by a leading HP reseller, Strawberry Global Technology. Alex Brown, Managing Director of the company, said: “We are very pleased to have taken our first order for the new 3PAR 7000 Array. The way the 7000 series is packaged and priced has made it an incredibly compelling offering for customers who need an efficient and scalable storage solution. We anticipate this new product launch will have a huge impact and significantly increase HP’s position in this market.”

The HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000 was launched officially only last week. Azlan had previously hosted a special preview of the much-heralded system in London at the end of November. The event was over-subscribed and Azlan has since received a flood of enquiries.

Nigel Dunn, Director of Azlan UK and Ireland, expects this to the first of many orders that Azlan receives for the arrays. “By bringing Fibre Channel technology and Tier 1 features within the reach of SMB customers for the first time, the HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000 breaks new ground. It’s the first storage solution to really offer enterprise-class capabilities to mid-sized organisations. It has already attracted a lot of attention and we expect it to be a really popular choice amongst businesses looking for totally ‘bullet-proof’ but affordable advanced storage solutions.”

HP 3PAR StoreServ 7000 Storage extends the innovative HP 3PAR StoreServ product line to the mid-range, with industry leading performance and features at the price that customers need. It means users spend less time managing storage and get more features for less, and without sacrificing performance or future scalability. It also guarantees to double virtual machine density; with hardware-assisted thin storage, it is the only platform that guarantees a 50% reduction in capacity requirements. It meets SMB needs and with a common architecture, spans to enterprise-scale, making upgrades painless and affordable.

Used alongside HP’s next-generation StoreEasy NAS platform, the StoreServ 7000 range delivers the ideal solution for small and mid-sized businesses looking to maximise their scalability and return on investment.  Providing high availability for mid-sized environments with file capabilities for HP 3PAR arrays, StoreEasy appliances are optimised for Microsoft Windows Server 2012 Hyper-V and virtualised application environments.
