Azlan forms UK distribution partnership with FireMon

Basingstoke, 08 August 2012 – Azlan, the enterprise networking business unit of Computer 2000, has formed a new partnership with FireMon, bringing the  company’s leading risk analysis and policy and configuration management solutions into reach of the UK’s value-added reseller and managed services provider communities.

FireMon’s platform-independent solutions enable enterprises and public sector customers to assess and prioritise network vulnerabilities and pro-actively defend networks from external threats and those created by inadequate configuration and management of security policies. They can also be used as a key component of an effective enterprise managed security services offering.

With immediate effect, Azlan will be offering FireMon’s complete range of network security solutions to UK VARs.  This includes the recently-launched FireMon Security Manager 6.0, which combines risk analysis and assessment with configuration management, enforcement and auditing of network devices such as firewalls, routers, switches and load balancers.

Mark Corrigan, Head of Enterprise and Access Networking at Azlan, said: “FireMon leads the way in enterprise risk analysis and management. This is a significant addition to our portfolio and one that complements our existing vendor relationships very well indeed. For our customers addressing the enterprise and public sector markets, security and policy management is a growing opportunity. BYOD and the increasing diversity of mobile devices are compelling end-user organisations to open up their networks and there is an increasing threat from organised theft of data and identities. With Firemon’s advanced solutions, resellers can deal with these issues for their customers and drive valuable incremental business for themselves.”

Juan Lyall, Channel Manager EMEA for Firemon, added: “Azlan has a great reputation for building presence within the UK enterprise channel and we are looking forward to working with them to reach out to the VAR community. This important partnership will open up new opportunities to drive growth of both management solutions and managed services value propositions that unburden the customer from time-intensive, yet vital, security management tasks.”

TDAzlan agreement with Bradford Networks brings added BYOD potential for VARs

TDAzlan, the enterprise networking business unit of Computer 2000, has formed a new partnership with Bradford Networks, a renowned provider of network access control solutions, bringing the company’s flexible Network Sentry platform within the reach of thousands of HP Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking Group (ESSN) partners in the UK and presenting them with the opportunity to address the security issues around BYOD for their customers.

Bradford Networks’ solutions provide a really effective way to see what’s on the network and apply and manage rigorous security settings and access rights and thus enable organisations to embrace the BYOD trend and harness the full benefits of ‘big data’. They are the ideal complementary offering for resellers of HP Networking solutions looking to meet the needs of enterprise and mid-market customers around these key areas of IT.

“The challenges that BYOD brings end-user organisations around security and compliance issues are very considerable indeed. That presents good opportunities for network VARs and integrators to deliver solutions that will ensure all devices on the network can be effectively monitored and managed. Bradford Networks’ solutions meet these requirements exactly”, said Nigel Dunn, Azlan UK Director of HP ESSN. “This agreement is a perfect fit for Azan right now and one that opens up considerable new potential. It fits in with our strategy of developing new partnerships with vendors that complement our core portfolio, and enable VARs to meet the most pressing needs of their customers and differentiate their value propositions.”

Commenting on behalf of Bradford Networks, CEO Dan Haley stated: “Azlan has an unrivalled reputation for providing network integrators with the educational, technical and sales support required to introduce new solutions and technologies successfully. We are looking forward to working with Azlan and supporting its efforts to recruit and enable more VAR partners for Bradford Networks in the UK, and subsequently helping both them and us to drive new business development and growth.”

“Bradford is a critical component of our solution set to address the BYOD and mobile security challenges organizations face,” said Nick Watson, vice president of HP networking EMEA. “We’ve experienced impressive momentum with the BYOD Mobile Security Suite developed with Bradford, and we look forward to further developing this relationship.”

Bradford Networks’ Network Sentry gives organisations greater visibility and tighter control of IT policy, allowing employees access to the company network through both corporate issued and personal mobile devices. It creates a profiled view of all devices on the network, eliminating blind spots and ensuring secure access. IT departments can track and monitor individual devices and use real-time and historical data to make informed decisions about network security and usage. Network Sentry can be delivered via a hardware appliance, a virtual server, or cloud solution in BRADFORD.cloud.

Azlan will be looking to recruit resellers for Bradford Networks with immediate effect and is planning to run a series of webinars, on-boarding workshops and other events with Bradford Networks in the near future. Resellers can follow Azlan on the Twitter feed @TDAzlan_UK or email hpess@azlan.com for more information.

Azlan makes play for big data market with flash from Violin Memory

Azlan, the enterprise networking business unit of Computer 2000, has signed a UK distribution agreement with Violin Memory, the innovative provider of flash memory solutions for data centres and plans to work with the company to recruit new partners and drive sales opportunities around data centre optimisation, virtualisation and big data.

Violin Memory provides scalable flash memory arrays that offer exceptionally low latency and high bandwidth. They allow applications to process more information in less time and with fewer resources. They can be used to accelerate entire databases and deliver responses that are hundreds or even thousands of times faster than those offered by conventional spinning disk technology.  In addition, Violin’s Flash Memory Arrays occupy a fraction of the space, consume far less power and deliver much faster return-on-investment than hard disk-based solutions.

Nigel Dunn, Azlan UK Director of Enterprise Servers, Storage and Networking, said: “Azlan is building specific specialism in high performance next generation server and storage solutions to embrace the ‘Big Data’ opportunity with resellers. This agreement with Violin Memory is strategically important to us and our partners.  It gives them access to the most advanced flash memory arrays in the world today and enables them to offer solutions that will transform performance and availability of data for their customers.

“Imagine what your customer could do if their performance was increased tenfold and their infrastructure decreased by 70 percent. This partnership enables Azlan to put resellers at the forefront of the strategic shift towards ‘all-silicon’ data centres and big data solutions that will really enable organisations to harness the full power and potential of information.”

Garry Veale, Managing Director of Violin Memory Europe, added: “The agreement with Azlan will allow Violin to reach out to more UK resellers, help them to understand the benefits of Violin Flash Memory Arrays and how they can transform storage performance with flash, accelerate applications and optimise their customer’s existing storage infrastructures. We have been hugely impressed by the focus, energy and drive of Azlan and by its in-house expertise and capabilities.  We are excited about the prospects for this partnership. We will be working hard with Azlan to demonstrate the power and potential of our unique flash technology and to generate significant new business for channel partners.”

Azlan and has already scored one notable success with Violin technology, shipping an order for the acclaimed Violin Memory Array through a London-based HP reseller. The 10TB array is part of a VDI deployment in an international bank.  Azlan’s Senior Solutions Architect, Ian Morgan-Russell, worked closely with the reseller and Violin Memory to meet the customer’s needs.

Violin’s Flash Memory Arrays are changing the data centre for companies like AOL, Revlon, Tagged.com, Juniper and HP through its patent-pending flash vRAID technology. Violin recently won AlwaysOn 2011 Company of the YearSearchDataCenter Product of the Year, Gartner “Cool Vendor” for storage, and was named a Top Startup to Watch by SearchStorage.com.

About Violin Memory
Violin Memory flash Memory Arrays accelerate business applications way beyond what is possible with traditional storage solutions.  They deliver up to 1,000,000 transactions per second in a tiny footprint device, enabling the ‘all-silicon’ data centre, where the slowest and most unreliable element of data processing is removed. This enables dramatically accelerated applications and OLTP performance and enhanced user experiences, a massively-reduced infrastructure footprint much easier maintenance and management. Violin Memory is helping organisations to deliver exceptional application performance, cost-effectively by overcoming the limitations imposed by disk-based storage technologies on data analysis and response times. Azlan and HP plan to make D2D backup and StoreOnce deduplication seminar a racy affair at Williams F1 Centre

Azlan, the enterprise networking business unit of Computer 2000, is presenting a seminar and roadmap briefing on HP’s disk-to-disk backup solutions and StoreOnce deduplication technology at the Williams F1 Conference Centre near Wantage in Oxfordshire next week.

“HP’s D2D Backup Systems with HP StoreOnce deduplication are designed for efficient daily onsite backup of data centres and rapid data restore and disaster recovery. They present a great opportunity for partners as customers struggle to keep up with data growth”, says Nigel Dunn, Azlan UK Director of HP ESSN.

“The growth of data is leaving many organisations struggling with complex, distributed, and costly data protection. HP StoreOnce is the ideal solution and a relatively straightforward one for resellers to sell, deploy and support. Backup has always had a bit of a reputation for being somewhat soporific – but D2D backup is quite different and with deduplication it becomes much faster and effective. The value that resellers can deliver – and the money that they can make – by selling these solutions is anything but sleep-inducing and that’s something we hope to underline by holding the event at such a high-profile and exciting venue.”

As well as covering current technologies, the event will also provide resellers with an ‘NDA’ look at HP’s plans for the further development of its D2D backup and StoreOnce technology. There will also be a session on what’s new in HP Data Protector v7.0 and Azlan will announce details of a special reseller sales incentive on HP backup solutions.

The event takes place on Wednesday 20th June, with a sales session in the morning (9.00am to 13:30pm) and a technical / pre-sales session in the afternoon (12:30pm to 16:00pm). Delegates will be treated to a tour of the centre during the lunch break or after the afternoon session.
